Austin Master
Austin Master, a native of Broomall, Pennsylvania, developed a passion for hockey at a young age. He began his journey with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers’ 16u and 18u AAA teams between 2015 and 2017, layering a strong foundation for his future in the sport.
Austin's hockey journey advanced to junior hockey with the Philadelphia Little Flyers in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL), where he showcased his offensive prowess by tallying 33 goals and 47 assists in 49 games during the 2018-19 season. His performance earned him a commitment to Stevenson University, where he became a cornerstone of the Mustangs' NCAA Division III program. Over four seasons (2019–2023), Austin amassed 86 points (30 goals, 56 assists), placing him second in program history for career points and goals. His accolades include MAC Rookie of the Year honors, multiple All-MAC and All-UCHC selections, and serving as team captain in his senior year. Notably, he represented the United States at the World University Games, contributing to a silver medal finish.
Austin’s strong collegiate résumé opened the door to professional hockey, and in June 2023, he signed his first contract with the Reading Royals of the ECHL. In his rookie season, he adjusted quickly to the pace and physicality of the pro game, appearing in 40 contests and contributing both offensively and defensively. His consistency and character earned him a return for the 2024–25 season, where he continued to prove himself as a reliable, two-way forward over 49 games.
Parallel to his playing career, Austin has cultivated a passion for coaching and player development. For past 3 summers, he has worked with youth and junior players throughout the Philadelphia area focusing on personalized development plans that improve skating, puck control, shooting, and hockey awareness. Austin's coaching style is rooted in experience, patience, and a strong understanding of how to help players reach their potential.
Whether on the ice as a competitor or behind the bench as a coach, Austin brings integrity, passion, and a deep respect for the game. His hockey journey continues to evolve, marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence and a desire to positively impact the next generation of players.
