CONTACT PROGRESSION

HOW THIS GROUP OPERATES

Players train within either the Premier or High Performance environment, both operating under the same summer-long contact progression and expectations. Each session builds intentionally, introducing physical play in controlled phases so players develop comfort, positioning awareness, and timing before contact becomes part of their competitive season.

TRAINING FOCUS

Throughout the summer, contact is introduced progressively through angling, body positioning, puck protection, and competitive small-area play. Players learn how to initiate and absorb physical pressure properly while continuing to execute skills at game speed.

Coaching Standard

A 1:5 coach-to-player ratio ensures players receive detailed instruction and consistent correction as physical concepts are layered across the summer. Emphasis is placed on clarity, safety, and proper technique within every phase of contact progression.

What’s Included

    Biweekly Coaching Feedback

Written feedback is provided every two weeks by the player’s assigned summer coach, outlining strengths, focus areas, and clear next development steps.

  • Two ice hockey players in black jerseys and pants, wearing black caps and gloves, are skating on the ice. One player is holding a hockey stick with both hands while standing upright, and the other is slightly bent forward, reaching back with one hand to hold the first player's gloves. They are near the boards with a sign in the background that reads 'Seattle Ice Arena'.

    Optional One-on-One Meetings

Optional individual meetings available with the coach of choice. Designed for families seeking additional conversation or development.

    Biweekly Live Video Sessions

Biweekly live video sessions reinforce current development themes, connect on-ice work to game situations, and explain why specific skills matter.

  • Young hockey players on ice rink, some kneeling and some standing, during a practice or game, with a background of empty spectator seats and banners hanging from the ceiling.

    Monthly Program Check-Ins

Monthly group check-ins for players and parents review progress, address questions, and outline the development focus for the upcoming month.

  • Two ice hockey players wearing red jerseys with the logo 'Hire Hockey,' helmets, and protective gear, standing on the ice rink during a game or practice.

    Weekly NHL Video Reviews
